GIYC has 105 deep water wells, for both power and sailboats, available to active and life active GIYC members on the basis of points and compatibility. If you are interested in obtaining a dock, or would like more information on well availability, please contact the GIYC fleet captain.

The Club has a single point hoist with a 4000 lb limit, for use by members only for hauling small boats. Hoist use must be approved by the GIYC fleet captain. Please contact him for instructions on use and for approval for usage.

GIYC has available a 10 ton travel lift for member use to haul power and sailboats of up to 40 feet, 13 foot beam and 7 foot draft. Hoist is available to non-members on an emergency basis only. Please contact the GIYC fleet captain to arrange for hoist usage and haul out rates.

GIYC has transient dockage available to members of reciprocal DRYA, ILYA and AYC affiliated clubs for both hourly and overnight dockage, available on a first come, first served basis, or by reserving in advance. For additional guest dockage information and rates, please contact the GIYC fleet captain or the GIYC Club Manager.

Members may store their boats for the winter on Peek-A-Boo Island by prior arrangement with the fleet captain starting in late September on a first come, first served basis. All winter stored materials, including boats, cradles, jack stands, masts, and any shoring materials, must be removed from Peek-A-Boo island by the Friday prior to Memorial Day. Please contact the GIYC fleet captain for more information.

Our club has a gin pole available for the stepping and un-stepping of sailboat masts for boats up to 35 feet, and mast weight of up to 250 lbs. Join Our Kayaking Club

Grosse Ile Yacht Club has an active kayaking club, who meet every other Thursday evening throughout the summer to explore the waters surrounding GIYC, usually followed by an informal dinner in the club lounge or dining room.

In addition, the kayak group meets on occasional weekends for longer sojourns. Last summer over 20 members participated in club kayaking activities.

Members may store their kayaks at the club for a yearly fee, which allows the use of the club ramp and launch facilities.

Please contact the GIYC fleet captain or club manager for further information and storage rates.  For more information about joining the group, please call 734-285-2925.
