Dear Grosse Ile Yacht Club Members,
Due to the mandate by Governor Whitmer to stop inside service for all bars and restaurants, GIYC will be closed for inside bar and dining services until the mandate is lifted. We will however on a trial basis provide curbside pickup for limited menu items for all GIYC members and reciprocal clubs. We will also provide home delivery service for GIYC members that live on Grosse Ile and need home delivery service. This service will be available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The Board of Directors have put into place a change to the minimum food and beverage requirement to extend relief to our members during the shutdown. For the remainder of the year, the existing food and beverage minimum requirement for each respective membership class will be calculated for the entire calendar year instead of the traditional 7-month and 5-month segments. We will also prorate a deduction for the minimum based on the number of days the club is closed.
Curbside takeout and delivery will still be counted toward your minimum, so we urge all members to take advantage of this service. With membership support and teamwork, we will get through this and have a successful boating year.
